🔮 Energy of the Week Tarot Pull

Each week, I pull one card to tune into the underlying energy ahead. Tarot isn’t about predicting the future — it’s about checking in with your current timeline and gently steering your own ship.

The 4 of Wands

Deck: Queer Tarot by Ash & Chess

The 4 of Wands is illustrated by a couple standing under a wedding arch and is typically associated with the words…

  • Celebration

  • Harmony

  • Foundation

  • Completion

Take a moment to acknowledge your wins this week, big or small. It can be something as big as the completion of a major project or something little like “I left my apartment and went on a 15 minute walk for the first time in weeks.”

Something I have to remind myself consistently is that talking down on myself doesn’t move the needle forward. Negative inner dialogue actually inhibits our own growth by keeping us stuck in a cycle of shame and unworthiness.

So this week I implore you to write down your wins or at least reflect on them before bed, also take time to acknowledge how far you’ve come over the course of your life.

You’re doing a lot better than you think, I promise :)

💋 Something That Stuck With Me- A quote from Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is probably one of my greatest inspirations. In her early years she was abandoned by her parents and raised in foster care- yet she went on to become one of the most successful actresses of all time.

“A career is wonderful, but you can’t curl up with it on a cold night.”

Marilyn Monroe

While Marilyn was achieving the apex of success in Hollywood’s golden era, she never tried to be somebody she wasn’t. She was messy, she cried on set, and was extremely vulnerable with the world.

Marilyn was authentic. In her authenticity she allowed herself to be loved imperfectly, by people who could not love her the way that she deserved.

I’ve been think about this quote a lot lately because I’ve been feeling lonely and sometimes I wish I could just turn my heart off. I’ve gone a long period being single-yet I know I am in a season of my life where I need to be alone(ish).

While logically I can tell myself that all day, that doesn’t mean I don’t yearn or ache or ever feel sad about it. We all deal with insecurities with dating but as a trans woman, I’ve sought love from cis men in order find acceptance within myself.

All this to say, while yes I harp on the importance of self sufficiency, interpersonal development, and building the life of your dreams- even Marilyn said, you can’t curl up with your career on a cold night.

I might be single but my skin is clear & my mental health is stable(ish) <3

So if you’re yearning, or having a hard time dating, or trying to drown your feelings in work as I often do (unsuccessfully). Just know it’s normal and it’s okay to be a little bit sad. That doesn’t mean you’re a lost cause, but maybe you’re single for a reason and maybe its a sign for you to do inner work- even when it sucks.

One of my mantras that grounds me is, “I am trusting that if I take step towards the person I want to become then I’ll meet the right people on the way.”

CTG Aria

Think about it, if you’re aligning yourself with the person you want to be. Going to events, putting yourself out there, and trying new things you’re gonna meet like minded individuals.

Individuals that won’t make you question your worth, that won’t see your bio on a dating app and instantly swipe left, who won’t clock you and try to hide you.

So take a break from the apps, take a break from the club, return to yourself and trust that what is meant for you will come, even if you can’t see it yet.

🎀 Cool Trans Girl of the Week- Meet CTG Chazzie

Correction: Chazzie Graduated Class of 2024

About CTG Chazzie

Just a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Chazzie Grozzhandler at New York’s Trans and Nonbinary Leadership Summit presented by Out Leadership.

Chazzie is a bright young girl who gives me hope for the future of our community. Starting her transition in 4th grade, she describes the years leading up to her coming out as being terrified of what her family might think.

Luckily Chazzie was met with open arms and was able to start living as her true self. Despite her families unconditional love, the Grosshandler’s were met with opposition from outsiders and forced to reconcile with how poorly trans people have been represented in media.

That’s when Chazzie and her family came up with GenderCool, a non profit organization that aims to humanize, connect, and inspire young trans people through the power of storytelling. Since the organizations founding, Chazzie and her family have touched the lives of many in similar shoes and helped sway public opinion.

CTG Chazzie’s formal accomplishments are quite impressive, having a more robust career before turning 18 then most people will their entire lives. She’s promoted GenderCool on the Today Show, was invited to the white house by former President Biden, and is also a part of GLAAD x Teen Vogue’s 20 under 20.

Chazzie also graduated high school this year and will be studying political science at the University of Arizona where she hopes she can continue to advocate for the trans community. She says, think Legally Blonde but in DC.

I said, “so like the second one?” She said, “yeah but not a fan.” Respect.

Chazzie, What does being a Cool Trans Girl mean to you?

“I would say being able to live as my true authentic self for ten years and be a voice for people who don’t always have one.”

“But being a Cool Trans Girl is more than just being trans, its more than my advocacy work. I love Juicy Couture, Paris Hilton, music, and hanging out with my friends. It’s doing the things that make me happy.”

CTG Chazzie

Even though Chazzie has done major advocacy work and continues to develop as a young professional… at the end of the day Chazzie is your typical teenage girl. Her room is painted baby pink, magazines adorn her walls, and she has stuffed animals on her bed. She also identifies with Cher from Clueless on a spiritual level.

Being a Cool Trans Girl isn’t about what you’ve accomplished. Rather its going after everything you want in life, allowing yourself to be seen, and choosing love over fear which CTG Chazzie is doing eloquently <3

This Weeks Tea- Trans News

From courtrooms to community wins- here’s what went down in trans news this week. Sources: @queernewsdaily and at @erininthemorning

GOP Senator Claims “entire men’s teams” are Transitioning- Bitch Where?

Last weekend, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville (wow thats a name) appeared on Fox News and stated, “We have entire men’s teams across the country now that are turning trans.” Which is probably one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.

He continues, ”That’s going to be a situation where its going to pick up speed because these woke globalists are pushing these kids to say if you can’t compete in men’s sports, let’s just transition and say you’re a woman and participate in woman’s sports.”

My Personal Take

What concerns me is the millions of Americans that are tuning into Fox News and are taking these egregious claims at face value. The trans community is having a PR crisis to say the least, but what can we do about it?

Show up online, use your voice, and allow yourself to be seen. I know not all of us want to be content creators but the more trans people that use their voice the more people who have a “middle of the road” stance on trans issues can see that we’re normal people.

Canadian Musician blocked from touring US over Anti Trans Visa Policy

Canadian musician, Bells Larsen, who is trans, has been forced to cancel his upcoming US tour dates after immigration authorities required government issued IDs to match, “ones assigned sex at birth.”

Larsen writes, “I received an email on Tuesday from the American Federation of Musicians stating that I am no longer able to to apply for a Visa because US immigration now only recognizes identification that corresponds with with ones assigned sex at birth.”

He also writes, “The accumulation of border horror stories, worried check-in texts from loved ones, and increasingly troublesome updates on the news and official government websites with regards to travel precautions has resulted in a plethora of nightmares and anxiety,”

He continued, “If Random people are getting randomly questioned/stopped/detained at borders, how can I- as someone wanting to make money abroad by exhibiting my lived experience as a trans person expect a get out of jail free card.”

My Personal Take

Attempting to stop trans people from entering the country may signal an attempt to further restrict travel for people’s who’s passports do not match their birth certificate.

Visa restrictions are scary and because of past historical events policies that restrict movement of a specific group can signal something insidious, like the slow erasure of trans people from public life.

So what can we do in the meantime? Keep an eye on exit visa restrictions, I have google alerts set up just in case. Also if possible update your birth certificate so it matches your other government ID’s.

Now is not the time to panic, we will have warning if things continue to escalate. Major policy changes like that don’t happen overnight. Also take solace, that other countries are offering asylum to Trans Americans, take solace that the trans community always has one another’s back, take solace that most people are good even in a world that grows darker with each passing day.

We will get through this, all we can do is take it one day at a time and trust that you will be able to recognize threats and handle challenges as they come. We got this.

Montana Republicans say no to Prosecuting Parents for Trans Care

PC:visitmt.com

Last Tuesday Montanas house considered senate bill 164, legislation that would classify gender-affirming care for transgender youth as felony child endangerment. The bill would not only target doctors and nurses, but also parents—including those merely passing through the state.

Though the vote was expected to be close, a powerful floor speech from Representative SJ Howell prompted a wave of Republican defections. The bill was defeated 40–58, becoming one of several anti-trans proposals to fail this year following strong speeches by Montana’s transgender and nonbinary lawmakers.

Montana has become an example of what is possible within state legislature to protect the trans community.
